"Happy birthday to me," Chris sang. "Happy birthday to meeeeeee." He looked around and then frowned, because someone had taken away the froofy girly drink in the coconut shell, he'd had it just a minute ago, and he hadn't been done with it yet and it was a crime to take away someone's unfinished booze, wasn't it? And if it wasn't, it should be. "Hey, who stole my drink?"

"Oh, for the love of little green apples," Kelly said, her tone full of exasperation and not a small amount of affection and love. She put Chris's drink down on the table and wormed her head under his arm to keep him from falling over. "You're thirty-two years old, you should be housebroken by now. I'm never letting you teach Bri anything. Come on, Joey and I will get you to bed."

"Joey might need a hand to get into bed himself," Joey said from Kelly's other side, but he stood up (and only had to grab onto the back of his chair for balance for a minute) and took Chris's other arm. "Come on, birthday boy. Bed's a-calling. You even managed to outlast Lance."

"Lance!" Chris crowed. "Lance came to my birthday party. I love Lance. And you came to my birthday party too. I love you and you and -- oh, I love everyone." He leaned over and planted a sloppy kiss on Kelly's cheek. She tolerated it with great aplomb, but Kelly's middle name was aplomb, at least if you didn't count that time with the jello in the pool. That had been less aplomb and more afire. Something occurred to him, though, and he paused, frowning, and tried to pull it out of his rum-soaked frontal lobe. "We're missing something though. Birthday spankings! Nobody's delivered the birthday spankings yet."

"Joey?" Kelly asked, sweetly.

"Yeah, babe?"

"Dispensation to take Chris back to his room and administer his birthday, uh, spankings?"

Joey seemed to think about that for a minute, and then grinned. "Can I watch?"

"That's part of the deal."

Joey pondered a minute more, and then nodded. "After you, then."
